Lab Room (Tadashi x Reader)

(Author's Note: May contain spoilers. This takes place after the accident, plus Tadashi is alive. WHOO!)

San Fransokyo Institute of Technology was your dream school. You've heard of their Robotics Lab and you swore to yourself that you would get in and start your dream of inventing new things that could possibly be helpful in everyday life. And that dream was starting to come true when you were accepted into the school after presenting your neurotransmitting walking brace. It could be used by anyone who couldn't walk. All they had to do was put on the transmitter, attach the braces onto their legs, and they could start walking.

Walking in the halls of the robotics lab was like a breath of fresh air to you. A box full of your materials was held tightly in your arms. You couldn't wait to get started.

'Lab #286. Lab #286.' You thought to yourself while looking for your chosen lab.

Too distracted looking for your lab, you suddenly fall backwards; the box in your hands drop and everything falls out. You rub the back of your head and sit up only to find a young boy, maybe the age of 14, sitting up as well. He shakes his head before looking up and meeting eyes with you.

"Whoa! Sorry there. Guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking." The young boy says nervously.

You blush a little before shaking your head.

"Don't be sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going myself." You give him a small smile before picking up your stuff on the floor. Then you noticed that the boy started picking up a few of your materials as well. You were about to stop him before you heard another voice yelling out a name.

"Hiro!" The voice called out again. You looked behind you to see an older boy standing in front of your fallen materials. He looked a lot like the young boy helping pick up your stuff.

"He's kind of cute." You said to yourself quietly.

"Hiro did you do this?" The other stranger asks furiously. You kept in mind that the young boy's name was Hiro.

"Heheh hey Tadashi. Uhh you look great today?" Hiro said in a scared tone before he got up and ran away.

"Unbelievable." The older boy looks down at you.

"I'm sorry about my brother Hiro. Let me help you get this cleaned up. My name is Tadashi by the way. Tadashi Hamada." He flashes you a smile and crouches down to pick up your stuff. As he reaches for the items on the ground, you could see the jagged pattern of scars on his left arm. Your gaze reaches up to his face and there were more of the scars covering the left half of his neck and jawline.

You could only stay in place and stare at him.

'What happened to him?'

He picks up all your stuff, placed them into your box and carried it with one arm before stretching his free hand towards you. You look at his hand before grabbing it as he hoists you up back on your feet.

"Th-thank you, Tadashi. And my name is (____)."

"It's no prob - hey wait! You're that girl who presented the neurotransmitting walking brace at the annual showcase last week! I was really impressed with your invention. It's total genius!" Tadashi exclaimed with excitement.

You blushed and nodded your head. He liked your invention! You were so flattered. Tadashi then looks at you hand and notices the paper that has all the information about your lab. He squints and reads it before looking back up at you and smiling.

"Trying to find your new lab, I see? Well lucky for you, you have me to help guide you. What's your lab number?"

You look down at the paper again before replying,

"Lab #286!"

"Hey that's right next to my lab! I can walk you if you'd like."

"Sure! Oh and you don't have to hold that box anymore. I got it." You reached out to grab the box before Tadashi stopped you.

"It's fine. Now come on let's go!" Tadashi gives you another smile before walking ahead of you.

You stay behind for a couple seconds before smiling to yourself.

'I like this school already.' You thought to yourself before running towards Tadashi's moving figure.
